What Other Cheap Buidling Materials Other than Asbestos ?
URGENT QUESTION FOR ARCHITECTS:
Much of the emergency housing that is being erected in Sri Lanka uses ASBESTOS as it is cheap and no one in Sri Lanka is really aware of the dangers of this material. Do any of you know of other CHEAP, STRONG, and DURABLE building materials you can suggest for this use? Anarkali's group and her mother's (her mother Sumi is a good friend of my mother's) are asking for suggestions of "new construction technology for quick construction and cost effective materials"
We cannot sit back and watch relief housing being built to save people in the short term only to kill them in the long term. If you have any suggestions, please let me/ them know.
